It's a new season at PlainClarity; thus, we're doing some heavy scouting for a superstar to join our team. The position: a full-time public relations coordinator to join our stunning coastal office, who can grow into a senior member of the team. Members of the PlainClarity team think like journalists and have the chutzpah of publicists. Sound like you?

A fantastic writer who is organized, abundantly detail-oriented, witty, intelligent, trustworthy and refrains from using up-speak. Your research skills are exceptional; you know how to find trends and pitch press-worthy stories or you can quickly learn with our guidance. You enjoy working in an autonomous environment, but appreciate the support of a positive team; you consider yourself extremely creative.

You are confident in your abilities. You develop connections quickly and are amped about forging relationships with local, regional and national press. You’re excited about developing a track record of securing editorial placements and partnerships. You’ve already demonstrated success in the field, with at least a year of professional pr or multiple internships under your belt.

Some of the things you'll be doing:

  • Demonstrating your fabulousness, because you are — fabulous, that is.
  • Loving our clients abundantly, 'cause we adore them.
  • Maintaining an organized accounting of secured and upcoming press and opportunities.
  • Recommending and implementing initiatives that improve the public's perception of the client.
  • Developing social media campaigns and eventually managing an intern to help execute them
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with press, bloggers and key influencers.
  • Writing creative, interesting and effective press materials using the PlainClarity voice.
  • Researching special events for client participation.
  • Managing internal special events.
  • Booking and managing TV segments.
  • Co-maintaining company blog and social media pages.
  • Researching and maintaining awareness of national trends in food, hospitality and tech.
  • Staying aware of San Diego and national food culture and the key players involved.
  • Evaluating advertising and promotional programs for compatibility with public relations efforts and client brands.

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience. Includes health benefits.
