Hiring! Seeking pr pro to join our team.

PlainClarity, a respected boutique public relations firm that serves clients in the lifestyle, hospitality, resorts and tech industries, seeks a junior publicist. The culture at PlainClarity is progressive and welcoming. Members of the PlainClarity team are ambitious storytellers who think like journalists and have the chutzpah of publicists.

You are...

A fantastic writer with relentless tenacity who is confident, organized, abundantly detail- oriented, witty, intelligent and trustworthy with a strong work ethic. You are resourceful and committed. You do well, nay thrive, under pressure. Your research skills are exceptional; you know how to find trends and secure stories with local and national press. You enjoy working in an autonomous environment and consider yourself extremely creative. The tactics you employ could be considered vanguard. You’re confident in your abilities. You’re successful at executing team strategy with creativity, securing editorial placements and managing events.

You appreciate the opportunity to grow within an organization that cares about your success and well-being. You are dedicated to helping us grow. We are dedicated to helping YOU grow.

You are able to manage your workload with finesse and positivity and take care of our valued clients, who we treat like family, sans drama.

Extra points for a wicked sense of humor. You’re self-confident, but your hubris is under control.

You have at least two years of agency experience and positive relationships with San Diego and national press or you’re able to forge relationships quickly. And you do it because you love people, not because they’re doing something for you.

Some of the things you’ll be doing...

  • Demonstrating your fabulousness, because you are — fabulous, that is.
  • Executing team initiatives.
  • Recommending and implementing uncommon, creative initiatives that improve the public’s perception of clients.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with press, bloggers and key tastemakers.
  • Writing interesting and effective press materials (mostly pitches, sometimes press releases).
  • Researching and maintaining awareness of national trends in food, hospitality, luxury lifestyle and tech.
  • Maintaining company social media accounts through fun, creative posts.
  • Managing tv segments, photoshoots and other work in the field. This sometimes involves eating delicious food and sipping refreshing libations.

    Pay: Commensurate with experience
Apply: Email cover letter, resume and writing sample to hello[at]plainclarity[dot]com.
